Sara Ali Khan and Triptii Dimri will compete for the lead role in Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming family film, with an official announcement reportedly not being made this month or thereafter but earlier today, as they confirmed two women against the male lead Ayushmann Khurrana.

Reports are that both Sara Ali Khan and Triptii Dimri will be considered for the movie. Ayushmann will be finalized but he will wait for the final look test in January to decide upon the female lead as chemistry will drive the casting.

Triptii has stunned in how subtle her performances have been in Bulbbul and Qala but may not belong to the mold of more conventional, family-viewable genres for which Barjatya is known.

Meanwhile, Sara fits very well into the "sanskari" image usually associated with Barjatya films but has been criticized to not bring that depth to any performance.

Neither of the actresses is a great fit. Triptii is great at acting, but she might not fit into the wholesome image preferred by Barjatya, whereas Sara has the right image but might have problems in the emotional intensity of the character. The problem Barjatya has is choosing between two conflicting options.

The final casting will then reflect the balance Barjatya seeks between image and performance. Both actresses offer unique qualities, but neither is an ideal fit. The final choice will therefore shape the direction of this film as it navigates tradition with the modern stance.
