The man claims that despite holding a valid EAD/Advanced Parole combo card, Delta Airlines refused to let him board. The airline staff allegedly claimed he didn't have a valid visa and insisted on a physical I-512 paper form.
A missed flight, fear of being stuck abroad, and legal chaos followed. It was only quashed after a lawyer stepped in and got CBP (Customs and Border Protection) to confirm that the combo card was valid. Delta then allowed him to fly back a day later.
This incident is a clear reminder that not all airline staff, or even border officials, are on the same page when it comes to immigration documents. Especially lesser-known ones like the combo card.
So if you're travelling with such documents, take no chances. Carry backup paperwork, and lawyer contacts, and arrive hours early because a misinformed airline employee can derail your entire journey.
