Tahawwur Rana, the accused of 26/11 Mumbai attacks will likely be extradited To India soon. Tahawwur is a Canadian businessman who was born in Pakistan.

And in August of 2024, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has ruled that he can now be extradited to India as per the treaty between the countries.
Previously, a magistrate Judge had ruled that Rana was extradible to India but this was further challenged with a habeas corpus from Rana and it was denied by the district court.

This is indeed great news for Indians and finally, the friends and families of those lost in the Mumbai attacks will get some justice.
Mumbai Police named Tahawwur Rana as the main culprit behind the attacks in a 405 page chargesheet. He is known to be associated with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and also the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The panel in the US district court stated that India gave enough evidence to support the magistrate judge's statement of his probable involvement in the attacks.
Rana will be brought back to India through diplomatic channels and the process will probably start very soon.
