The Bengaluru police have already registered a case against the accused, identified as Vishnuvardhan. The complainant, Shashank S., a resident of Judges Colony filed an FIR after disclosing his ordeal.
According to the FIR, Shashank's sister-in-law had ordered some groceries on a quick commerce platform on May 21, 2025. When Vishnuvardhan reached the location, she went to collect the order.

Shashank alleged, "He scolded my sister-in-law in a loud voice and when I intervened, he abused me and attacked me with his hands. He punched me in the face and injured my left eye."
He also stated that the accused didn't stop hitting him despite trying to escape. Shashank reportedly went to the eye hospital and took treatment for the injury.

The Police have booked Vishnvardhan under BNS sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351 (criminal intimidation) for further investigation. They have also summoned the accused for questioning.
This case highlights the growing concerns around the safety of customers during doorstep deliveries and the urgent need for stricter verification and behavioural training protocols for delivery personnel to prevent such violent altercations.
