Australia introduced a new Working Holiday Maker visa program that has created a lot of buzz since the start of this month. This new system will randomly select 1000 applicants from a ballot after which they can apply for temporary visas for twelve months.
Nearly 40,000 Indians have applied since the applications opened on October 1st, according to Matt Thistlethwaite, Australia's Assistant Minister for Immigration. This is a step forward for India-Australia relations with a thousand lucky Indians getting a chance to explore life down under.

What makes this visa more appealing is that there are no job restrictions. Rather people aged between 18 to 30 can apply for study, work, or travel for the complete calendar year starting January 2025.
Thistlethwaite pointed out that this visa offers young Indians a chance to experience Australian culture and build work experience. He hopes this will inspire them to return later as students or skilled workers.
