AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi made sharp remarks during a press conference in Pune while responding to a question about the recent Pahalgam attack.
When asked what he would have done as prime minister, Owaisi said candidly, "Mein aise khwaba nahin dekhta. I know my limits. I live in reality and I'm not here to be PM or a minister."
However, he raised a serious concern over why India abruptly stopped Operation Sindoor. Owaisi questioned the decision, pointing out that the country had momentum and public sentiment for a strong counter-response. "Why stop when the nation was ready for a decisive reply?" he asked.
He noted that after the Pahalgam attack, India was in a war-like situation, with reports of Pakistan using kamikaze drones along the Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir borders. The sudden halt of the operation, according to him, remains unexplained.
Owaisi further said that Pakistan's military will continue to pose a threat as long as it controls the state, pointing out how the army there treats power as an industry, with generals securing wealth in real estate and tourism. He argued that the ISI's influence will remain until this system changes.
