During its governance, YCP leaders frequently praised the volunteer system and promoted it as a landmark initiative introduced by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Now, after a huge defeat in the Andhra Pradesh elections, YCP leaders have reversed their stance and started blaming the volunteer system for the party's failure. Speaking at a party members meeting on Sunday, he said that the party's high focus on the volunteer system resulted in its loss in elections and added that it prioritized volunteers over its own cadre, which he called the party's biggest mistake.
Ayodhya Ramireddy assured that the party would avoid such mistakes going forward and would focus on its workers and members from now on. He noted that under the "one-nation one-election" rule, elections may take place across the nation by the end of 2027. Thus, he asked his cadre to be ready and start working from the grassroots level immediately.
