YSRCP has been facing several legal challenges after losing power in 2024. In a new development, Machavaram police have registered a case against YSRCP's legal cell lawyer Venkatesh Sarma.
A lady who approached Venkatesh for divorce support filed a complaint with the women police. She accused him of misbehaving with her. The police booked a case under Section 75 (1) (i).
Police also reviewed earlier cases filed against Venkatesh and found a pattern of abusive behaviour. Old videos of him placing currency notes on women in clubs had gone viral. Venkatesh is known for visiting clubs frequently. As part of the investigation, police are now checking his earnings and property details.
The YSRCP legal cell is already handling multiple cases, including the AP liquor scam and the Tirumala adulterated ghee scam. Now, with a case filed against one of their own legal cell members, the situation has become more complicated. It remains to be seen how this case progresses in the coming days.
