Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 660: What's new?

Qualcomm recently launched the Snapdragon 665 as the successor to Snapdragon 660. The SDM660, as many of you might be aware, is one of the most preferred chipsets in the sub-20K INR price bracket. While there is the Snapdragon 675 SoC as well, that is pretty much found in slightly expensive devices. So, what does the latest Snapdragon 665 bring to the table? Is it a major improvement over the existing budget king that is Snapdragon 660? Let's find out as we put the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 660.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 vs Snapdragon 660: Which one's more powerful?

As you can see from the table above, the Snapdragon 665 clearly improves upon the Snapdragon 660. However, that is not by a massive margin. Based on the 11nm architecture, the Snapdragon 665 certainly uses lesser power than the Snapdragon 660. That said, it does come at slightly slower clock speed. The newer chipset does add on to the camera capabilities though, with support for up to 48MP and 16MP single and dual lens respectively. However, the major improvement with the newer chipsets is in the graphics department as well as the AI department. Qualcomm is betting big on the improvements in AI with the Snapdragon 665, which should improve the camera as well as the overall performance of the device.
