Mumbai to Ahmedabad Tejas Express to have extended stoppage time at this station
Soon, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express will halt for an extended time at one of its stations. The decision was made Western Railway and it has extended the stoppage timing of Mumbai to Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad to Mumbai Tejas Express trains at Surat.
These trains will now make a halt at the station for five minutes as compared to the previous halt time of three minutes at Surat station. The rail corporation made the announcement about the change through a tweet.
"Western Railway has extended the halt of Train No. 82902/01 Ahmedabad - Mumbai Central Tejas Express at Surat station," the tweet read.
Due to which, the Ahmedabad to Mumbai Tejas Express (Train No. 82902) which earlier reached Surat at 9:35 am and left at 9:38 am, will now leave at 9:40 am. Mumbai to Ahmedabad Tejas Express (Train No. 82901), which earlier reached Surat at 6:47 pm and left at 6:50 pm, will now reach Surat at 6:45 pm and leave at 6:50 pm.
The Ahmedabad to Mumbai Tejas Express departs from Ahmedabad at 6:40 am and reaches Mumbai Central at 1:10 pm. On its return journey, Mumbai to Ahmedabad Tejas Express departs from Mumbai Central at 3:40 pm and arrives in Ahmedabad at 9:55 pm.
The express train is the fastest train service between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Duronto Express covers the same distance in 6 hours 25 minutes whereas Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shatabdi Express takes 6 hours 35 minutes to complete the journey.
The Tejas Express between the two cities commenced its commercial operations from January 19, 2020. It runs six days a week, except Thursday. The train has six stoppages: Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivali stations.
Meanwhile, IRCTC has recently mentioned that users will have to prepare to pay fines if the weight of their luggage exceeds the permitted limit on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Tejas Express.
