Haryana Government revises Minimum Wages with effect from April 1, 2026

On April 9, 2026, the Labour Department, Government of Haryana has notified revised minimum wages for all employments in the state, with effect from April 1, 2026. The notification revises the basic minimum wage rates across four worker categories: unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled and highly skilled.

Under the revised rates, the monthly minimum wages are Rs. 15,220.71 for unskilled workers, Rs. 16,780.74 for semi-skilled workers, Rs. 18,500.81 for skilled workers, and Rs. 19,425.85 for highly skilled workers. The corresponding daily rates are Rs. 585.41, Rs. 645.41, Rs. 711.56, and Rs. 747.14, respectively. The notification states that these rates will apply across establishments covered under the Code on Wages, including factories, employees, workers and contract labour.

The notification specifies that these are basic minimum wage rates and they cannot be broken up into allowances by the employer. Further, the responsibility on the principal employer to ensure payment of minimum wages where workers are engaged through a contractor or service provider.

Lastly, for trainees, wages must be at least 75% of the applicable category rate, subject to the condition that this cannot be lower than the minimum wage for an unskilled worker, and the training period cannot exceed one year.
