Nasscom submitted an industry representation raising operational challenges related to SHe-Box portal. The SHe-Box portal, launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), is a commendable step toward strengthening workplace safety by creating a centralized platform for handling and tracking POSH-related information and complaints across sectors.
As organizations continue to align with this initiative, industry feedback highlights a few operational challenges that may benefit from reconsideration.
Companies with pan-India operations are finding it difficult to register their multiple offices on the portal. An additional constraint that Internal Committee (IC) members cannot be added as nodal officers adds to the complexity.
From a compliance and governance perspective, assigning multiple nodal officers may raise confidentiality risks in handling sensitive POSH complaints. Internal Committees are already trained, authorized, and experienced in managing such cases end-to-end. Allowing IC members to manage SHe-Box interactions would ensure better continuity, accountability, and privacy.
Industry bodies such as NASSCOM reaffirm their commitment to advancing women's safety and participation in the workplace. A collaborative dialogue between policymakers and industry can help refine implementation, ensuring that SHe-Box remains both effective and practical in empowering organisations to support women in a secure and meaningful way.
