During the operation, security forces recovered a hand grenade, three anti-national posters and a mobile phone from the suspect. The joint checkpoint had been set up on the Drabgam-Pachar Road. While checking vehicles and individuals, security personnel noticed a man behaving suspiciously. As soon as he spotted the checkpoint, he tried to run away. However, the team chased and caught him near the Fruit Mandi on Pachar Road.

The arrested individual has been identified as Tousef Ahmad Dar. A case has been registered against him under the Arms Act and various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Police have launched a detailed investigation to find out where the seized items came from and whether the accused has links with any terror network.

In a separate development, Reasi Police recently attached properties belonging to five alleged Pakistan-based terror handlers as part of an ongoing investigation into a terror-related case.

The action was carried out by a police team led by SDPO Mahore Parul Bhardwaj, along with officials from Mahore Police Station. The process was completed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and local witnesses.

According to police, the investigation found evidence that the accused had crossed over to Pakistan for terrorist training and are currently operating from across the border. They are allegedly involved in supporting and coordinating terrorist activities.

Officials also found that the attached properties could have been sold or transferred, with the money potentially being used to fund terror operations.

After receiving approval from Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters, Reasi Police attached the properties under the provisions of the UAPA to prevent their use in financing terrorism.
