Have you ever joined a WhatsApp group and wondered, "Did you miss something from the past?" Until recently, WhatsApp only showed you messages sent after you joined-leaving you out of earlier chats.
Now that's changing with a major new feature that aims to solve this problem.
What's new? - Group message history
WhatsApp has introduced a feature called Group Message History, designed to help new group members understand past conversations. Previously, when someone joined a group late, they couldn't see what was said before they were added.
With the new update:
Group admins (and other members) can now selectively share recent messages sent before a new member joins.
You can send 25 to 100 old messages to help new members get updated. This makes WhatsApp group chats easier and more user-friendly.
How it works - Step by Step
Here's how this feature works:
You're added to a WhatsApp group. After joining, group members or admins can choose to share the group's recent message history (typically the last 25-100 messages) with you.
These messages appear in your chats, giving you a quick overview of previous conversations - so you don't feel lost.
