Raw onions can irritate the stomach lining and may worsen symptoms like acid reflux and heartburn.
2. Individuals with IBS or sensitive digestion
Those suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or general gut sensitivity may experience gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort after consuming raw onions.
3. Thyroid patients
People with thyroid disorders are advised to limit raw onion intake. If consumed, onions should be lightly cooked or soaked to reduce potential effects.
4. Individuals with piles (hemorrhoids)
Ayurvedic guidance suggests avoiding raw onions in this condition, as their pungent nature may increase irritation, itching, and digestive discomfort, potentially worsening constipation.
5. People on blood-thinning medication
Raw onions may increase the risk of bleeding when combined with blood-thinning drugs, so medical advice is recommended before including them in the diet.
