Puttur: A 59-year-old man died after suffering chest pain and collapsing while travelling by bus from Nidpalli to Puttur on Friday, October 3.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa Naik, a resident of Kootelu in Nidpalli.
Collapsed after complaining of chest pain
Krishnappa was travelling to Puttur when the bus reached Irde. He suddenly complained of chest pain and collapsed inside the bus.
Passengers and others immediately helped take him off the bus. He was then shifted to a hospital in Puttur in another vehicle for medical attention.
However, after examining him, doctors declared that he had died.
Known as progressive farmer
Krishnappa was a progressive farmer and was actively associated with religious and community activities in Nidpalli.
He was known for serving as a pallbearer during the annual festival of the village deities of Nidpalli. He was also a member of the trust of Sri Shantadurga Temple.
His death has left his family and the local community mourning his loss.
Krishnappa is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
