A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Majalgaon in Maharashtra, where a nine-year-old girl died after a swing rope accidentally tightened around her neck while she was playing at home.

The victim, Vrinda Rudrawar, a Class II student, was playing with her four-year-old sister on the upper floor of their house on Tuesday morning, when the tragic accident occurred.

According to family members, the incident took place around 10:30 am on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, when schools were closed.

Vrinda reportedly climbed onto a chair to reach the swing. However, the chair tipped over, causing her to lose balance. In the process, the swing's rope got entangled around her neck and tightened, leading to the fatal incident.

The situation came to light when her mother went to check on the children and found Vrinda in a critical condition.

The family immediately rushed her to a nearby doctor, but she was declared dead upon arrival. The sudden loss has left the family and local community in deep shock.

Last rites were performed later the same evening in Majalgaon.

According to police officials, no formal complaint has been registered in connection with the incident. Authorities also stated that no medico-legal case has been reported by hospitals so far.

The incident serves as a tragic reminder of how quickly accidents can occur, even during routine play at home, underscoring the importance of safety precautions for children.
