In a major land fraud case, Bengaluru police have filed a chargesheet against a conman accused of cheating a doctor from Jammu and Kashmir of ₹2.7 crore through a fake land deal.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly used false claims of connections with a mutt to gain the victim's trust. He reportedly promised prime land and convinced the doctor to transfer a large sum as part of the deal.
However, the land in question either did not exist or was not legally transferable, exposing the fraudulent nature of the transaction.
Following a detailed investigation, Bengaluru police have now filed a chargesheet outlining the evidence collected against the accused. Officials said the case includes financial records, communication trails, and documentation used to mislead the victim.
The victim, a medical professional from Jammu and Kashmir, was allegedly targeted due to limited local knowledge of Bengaluru's property market, making it easier for the accused to execute the scam.
