Bengaluru: In a remarkable feat of endurance and exploration, an ambitious self-drive expedition from Bengaluru to Lhasa has captured national attention, showcasing the growing spirit of overland travel among Indian adventurers.

Popularly known as the Overland Lhasa Drive, the journey covered over 7,500 km across multiple terrains and international borders over a span of more than 20 days, culminating in a milestone visit to Mount Everest Base Camp.

The expedition began in Bengaluru, traversing India's varied landscapes before entering high-altitude regions leading towards Tibet. The route offered a constantly changing backdrop—from urban highways and towns to remote mountainous terrain and vast high-altitude deserts.

Each stretch of the journey presented unique challenges, demanding adaptability and careful navigation.

The most demanding phase of the expedition was navigating the Himalayan region. With decreasing oxygen levels and unpredictable road conditions, the team faced extreme physical and mental challenges.

Steep climbs, sharp turns, and rapidly changing weather conditions required advanced driving skills, thorough planning, and strong teamwork.

A defining highlight of the expedition was reaching Mount Everest Base Camp, a dream destination for many travellers. The achievement marked a significant milestone in the journey, symbolising both perseverance and success.
