New Delhi: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her 22-year-old boyfriend at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area, with police stating that the accused killed her after she refused to engage in physical relations with his uncle.

According to the Delhi Police, the incident came to light on Tuesday evening when the woman's body was discovered hidden inside a double bed storage box in a room located in the Patthar Market area.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikram Singh said that the Mangolpuri police station received a call around 7 pm reporting the presence of a body inside a bed box at a PG facility.

A police team rushed to the location and found that the room had been temporarily accessed by the accused earlier in the day. The PG owner informed officials that the 22-year-old had requested the room for a few hours to meet a woman.

When the owner returned in the evening, he noticed the room was unlocked and the accused missing. On entering, he found a leg protruding from the bed box. Upon opening it, he discovered the woman's body and immediately alerted the police.

Senior officers said that during interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the murder in a fit of rage. The altercation reportedly began after the woman refused to be physically intimate with the accused's uncle and his associate.

Police stated that the accused pinned the woman to the floor, causing injuries to her forehead. He then allegedly smothered her with a blanket and strangled her.

'The accused used his hands and legs to restrain the victim before killing her. After the murder, he placed the body inside the bed box,' a senior officer involved in the investigation said.

Investigators revealed that the accused's 50-year-old uncle and the uncle's 52-year-old friend were present at the scene and allegedly assisted in the crime.

They reportedly stood guard outside the room while the incident took place and later helped the accused flee from the location. All three individuals were arrested on Wednesday.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Western Range) Jatin Narwal confirmed that the body bore visible strangulation marks and injuries on the forehead.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Police said the victim was a resident of Mangolpuri and worked as a domestic help. She was married and had three children.

Preliminary investigations revealed that she was in a relationship with the prime accused, who reportedly operated a chicken shop near her residence.

On Tuesday afternoon around 4.30 pm, the victim accompanied the accused to the PG room. The other two accused also reached the location shortly thereafter.

Following the incident, a case has been registered under Sections 103 (murder) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are continuing their investigation to establish the sequence of events and gather further evidence.

The incident has raised serious concerns about safety and violent crimes in the national capital. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against all those involved, while further investigation is underway to ensure justice for the victim.
