IIM Bengaluru student says AI ended his deadline struggles

IIM Bengaluru student says AI ended his deadline struggles

News Karnataka 14 hrs ago

Bengaluru: An IIM Bengaluru MBA student's candid post about using artificial intelligence (AI) to stay organised has resonated with professionals and students alike, highlighting how AI is becoming an essential productivity tool in academic and professional life.

Rakshit Ravindranathan, an MBA candidate at the Indian Institute of Management Bengaluru (IIM Bengaluru), shared on LinkedIn that he stopped relying on memory to track assignments, meetings and deadlines after missing an important submission.

AI became his personal organiser

Recalling the incident, Ravindranathan said an assignment deadline slipped through because the information was spread across multiple platforms, including WhatsApp, an online portal and his own memory.

To solve the problem, he began using Anthropic’s Claude to organise his schedule, monitor pending tasks and keep track of commitments.

“I have been using Claude’s productivity setup to keep track of what is due, what is pending, and what I said yes to three weeks ago and forgot about,” he wrote.

He added that while he uses Claude, many of his friends rely on ChatGPT, Google Gemini or customised AI workflows integrated with their calendars.

More focus on meaningful work

According to Ravindranathan, the biggest advantage of using AI is that it removes the mental burden of remembering routine tasks, allowing users to focus on learning, preparation and critical thinking.

He stressed that the choice of AI platform is less important than having a system that manages schedules efficiently.

Instead of constantly worrying about deadlines, he now spends more time reading, preparing for classes and completing assignments.

Productivity in the AI era

Reflecting on changing work habits, Ravindranathan said the widespread availability of AI tools has changed expectations around productivity.

“Two years ago, being disorganised was a personality trait you could get away with. Now the tools are sitting right there, mostly free, and the gap between people who use them and people who do not is starting to show up in output. Being busy is not the flex it used to be. Being on top of it is,” he wrote.

His post has sparked widespread discussion on LinkedIn, with many users sharing how AI-powered tools are helping them better manage work, studies and personal commitments.
