Bengaluru: KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru, a division of the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad, has launched two new super-speciality hospitals in Mahadevapura and Electronic City as part of its strategic expansion in the city's healthcare sector.

The new facilities were inaugurated by Indian film star N.T.R., marking the entry of the KIMS healthcare network into Bengaluru with advanced, patient-centric and technology-enabled medical infrastructure.

Officials said the launch of the two hospitals represents a major step in expanding access to world-class healthcare services in one of India's fastest-growing metropolitan regions.

Both hospitals are strategically located in rapidly developing parts of the city to ensure easier access to advanced healthcare for residents and professionals working in surrounding areas.

The Mahadevapura facility has a capacity of more than 450 beds, while the Electronic City hospital has 350 beds. Together, the two hospitals significantly expand tertiary healthcare capacity in Bengaluru's eastern and southern corridors.

The facilities are equipped with 30 modern operation theatres and more than 170 outpatient consultation rooms (OPDs), allowing specialists to handle a wide range of medical consultations, procedures and surgeries.

Hospital officials said the design and infrastructure of the new facilities focus on delivering efficient patient care supported by modern technology and specialised medical teams.

The newly launched hospitals include more than 25 super-speciality centres and Centres of Excellence across various medical disciplines.

Key departments include cardiology, neurology, oncology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ear, nose and throat (ENT), obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, internal medicine, critical care and chronic disease management.

The hospitals will offer services ranging from primary healthcare and routine consultations to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical treatments.

According to the management, the facilities aim to provide a comprehensive healthcare pathway covering prevention, early detection, treatment, surgery and long-term disease management.

Advanced diagnostic technology and specialised intensive care units have also been installed to support critical and emergency care services.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group of Hospitals, said the expansion reflects the group's long-standing commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centred care.

'Our arrival into Bengaluru healthcare is an adherence to carrying forward the clinical excellence and patient-focused values that have defined KIMS Hospitals for more than two decades,' he said.

Dr Rao added that the group will continue to invest in advanced medical technology, experienced specialists and modern hospital infrastructure to strengthen tertiary and quaternary care services.

He noted that expanding into Bengaluru aligns with the organisation's vision of improving access to high-quality healthcare across major urban centres.

Dr B. Abhinay, Chief Executive Officer of KIMS Group of Hospitals, said the launch of the two hospitals is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the group's presence in high-growth healthcare markets.

He noted that the organisation already has a strong footprint in states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Maharashtra.

'Launching KIMS Hospitals in Bengaluru is a strategic move for us to enhance our footprint in key markets. Our growth strategy focuses on building a strong healthcare ecosystem in fast-growing regions so that advanced medical care becomes more accessible,' he said.

Dr Abhinay added that the Bengaluru expansion represents a significant milestone in the group's nationwide growth plan.

Actor N.T.R., who inaugurated the hospitals, described the occasion as an emotional and special moment.

He recalled that his grandfather, the late N.T. Rama Rao, had laid the foundation stone for a new block at PES University in Bengaluru more than four decades ago.

'Seeing that legacy continue with the inauguration of this hospital facility makes this occasion very special for me,' he said.

The actor also expressed his strong connection with Bengaluru and the people of Karnataka, noting that the city has always welcomed him warmly.

He added that his long association with KIMS Hospitals has allowed him to witness the organisation's commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care.

Dr Nitish Shetty, Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru, said the Mahadevapura and Electronic City hospitals have been designed to meet the growing healthcare demands of the city's population.

He said the facilities include advanced intensive care units, high-end diagnostic equipment and experienced medical professionals to ensure seamless treatment for patients.

Dr Shetty also revealed that the group plans to launch three more hospital units in the coming years as part of its expansion strategy in the region.

'These hospitals will act as major healthcare hubs in Bengaluru, particularly serving residents in the city's IT corridor and surrounding areas,' he said.

With the launch of the two new hospitals, KIMS Hospitals aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Bengaluru while providing advanced medical services to a larger population.

The management emphasised that innovation, expansion and clinical excellence will remain central to the group's mission of improving healthcare delivery in India.

As Bengaluru continues to grow as a major technology and economic hub, the addition of large super-speciality hospitals is expected to play an important role in supporting the city's expanding healthcare needs.
