A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly secretly filming a 23-year-old software engineer while she was bathing inside her rented accommodation.

According to police, the incident came to light after the woman noticed suspicious activity and approached authorities. Acting on her complaint, officers launched an investigation and tracked down the accused.

He was subsequently taken into custody and booked under relevant sections related to invasion of privacy and harassment.

Preliminary findings suggest that the accused gained access to the premises and recorded the video without the victim's knowledge or consent. The case has raised concerns over safety and privacy, especially for individuals living in rented accommodations.

Authorities have advised residents, particularly those staying in shared or rented spaces, to remain cautious and report any suspicious behaviour immediately. They also stressed the importance of verifying backgrounds of individuals with access to living spaces.
