Narendra Modi joined local children for a friendly football match in Gangtok on Tuesday, adding a playful moment to his two-day visit to Sikkim.
Videos shared online showed the Prime Minister kicking the ball with youngsters and interacting warmly with school children.
During the session, Modi was heard jokingly asking the children, 'Mujhe hara do ge?' (Will you defeat me?), drawing smiles and laughter.
He later described the football session as 'energising' on social media.
The morning activity formed part of Modi's broader outreach to youth and aligned with his repeated push for sports, fitness and healthy lifestyles across India.
Observers said the informal interaction created a memorable moment for the participating children.
During the visit, Modi also launched development projects worth over ₹4,000 crore across Sikkim.
Officials said the projects span sectors including infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, power, tourism, agriculture and urban development.
The Prime Minister attended events linked to the closing ceremony of Sikkim's 50th year of statehood celebrations at Paljor Stadium.
He also held a roadshow during the visit.
