Shweta Singh Kirti Reiterates Sushant Foul Play Claim

News Karnataka 2 hrs ago

Mumbai: More than six years after the death of actorSushant Singh Rajput, his sisterShweta Singh Kirti has once again raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his death, alleging that there was foul play and saying that several questions remain unanswered.

In a recent interview with Supertalks By Themovingship, Shweta said she no longer seeks closure from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and instead wants to focus on remembering and celebrating her brother's life and legacy. Her comments have once again brought the circumstances surrounding Sushant's death into public discussion.

Shweta also spoke about Sushant's state of mind following the death of his former manager Disha Salian and recalled statements she said he made during that period.

Shweta questions circumstances surrounding Sushant's death

Speaking to Supertalks By Themovingship, Shweta said the family continues to have questions about what happened to Sushant Singh Rajput.

"It's been six years, we still do not know what really happened. What was the hurry for post-mortem? He never used to lock his room. How was his room locked from inside? There are several unanswered questions," she said.

Shweta then added, "Something was not right. Something was wrong."

She also claimed that multiple psychics had independently told her that there was something suspicious about Sushant's death. These claims are part of Shweta's personal account and have not been established as evidence in the investigation.

Shweta recalls Sushant's state of mind after Disha Salian's death

During the interview, Shweta also discussed Sushant's reaction to the death of Disha Salian, who had worked as his manager.

Salian died after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai in June 2020, days before Sushant was found dead.

According to Shweta, Sushant was deeply disturbed following Salian's death. She recalled him repeatedly saying that "they will not even spare him".

Shweta said she did not know whom Sushant was referring to when he used the word "they". She also speculated that he may have had information that he intended to reveal, while acknowledging that the family did not know what he may have meant.

When asked whether Sushant was referring to Bollywood, Shweta said, "We do not know that."

Her comments remain an account of what she says she remembers and do not establish a connection between the two deaths.

Shweta says she no longer seeks CBI closure

Shweta also explained why she no longer wants to wait for a formal resolution from the CBI.

She said the family believes there was "some kind of cover-up" and that they know in their hearts what happened. She added that instead of keeping the wound open by continuing to seek answers, she wants the family and Sushant's admirers to celebrate his life.

"Should we keep this wound open or should we live Sushant?" she said.

The remarks come after the CBI filed a closure report in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case in March 2025. According to reports at the time, the agency concluded that it had found no evidence that anyone had driven Sushant to suicide or abetted his death.

Shweta's latest comments therefore represent her continuing personal belief about the circumstances of her brother's death rather than a finding that has been established by the CBI investigation.

Sushant Singh Rajput died in June 2020

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. His death triggered widespread public debate and multiple investigations, with allegations of foul play continuing to circulate despite the CBI's closure report.

The actor's family has remained vocal about questions surrounding his death, while Shweta has frequently spoken publicly about his life, work and legacy.

The renewed discussion also comes at a time when the death of Disha Salian has returned to the spotlight. The CBI recently registered a fresh FIR in the Salian case following directions from the Bombay High Court, although the investigation is ongoing and allegations connected with that case have not been established.

Shweta chooses to focus on Sushant's legacy

Despite reiterating her belief that something was wrong with the circumstances surrounding Sushant's death, Shweta said her focus has now shifted towards remembering the actor for his work and the person he was.

Her latest interview combines unresolved questions about the past with an expressed desire to move forward. While she continues to believe that foul play was involved, the CBI's 2025 closure report reached a different conclusion.

For now, Shweta says she would rather keep Sushant's memory alive through his work and legacy than allow the circumstances of his death to remain the only focus of his story.
