St Aloysius Engineering School hosts RESOENANCE 2026

Mangaluru: RESOENANCE 2026, the annual techno-cultural fest organised by the School of Engineering, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), was inaugurated at the University on Tuesday as part of Engineers' Day celebrations.

Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis, S.J., Vice-Chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), presided over the inaugural ceremony. Dr. B. Unnikrishnan, Dean and Professor of Community Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru, was the Chief Guest, while Aneesh M. Bhat, Founder of DevVoid and CTO of Automotive AI and Tether AI, was the Guest of Honour.

Also present were Dr. S. Ruban, Dean; Dr. Geetha, Associate Dean; and Dr. Glenson Toney, Assistant Dean, School of Engineering.

Dr. Unnikrishnan stressed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and research, particularly the potential of bringing medicine and technology together to address real-world challenges.

Mr. Bhat urged students to cultivate curiosity and develop a questioning mindset, emphasising the importance of exploration and continuous learning in engineering.

Dr. Glenson Toney said engineering education must extend beyond the classroom through practical exposure, problem-solving and engagement with real-world challenges.

The event witnessed the participation of over 150 students from various pre-university (PU) colleges, who took part in the techno-cultural fest featuring a range of technical and cultural activities.

Assistant Professors and event coordinators Vijay Ganesh and Gaurav Prasad delivered the welcome address and proposed the vote of thanks, respectively.

The fest culminated in a cultural evening and awards ceremony. St Aloysius PU College emerged as the overall champion, while Canara PU College secured the runners-up position. The championship award was presented by Arjun Kapikad, actor and director in the Tulu film industry and Team of his new movie Toss.

RESONANCE 2026 provided PU students a platform to showcase their technical, creative and cultural talents while fostering healthy competition and interaction among institutions.
