Bengaluru: To manage increased passenger demand during the summer season, the Indian Railways has announced a special train service between Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT Bengaluru) and Kanpur Central railway station via Prayagraj Junction.

The special service aims to provide additional connectivity for travellers commuting between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh during the peak travel period.

Train number 04131 will operate from Kanpur Central to SMVT Bengaluru every Sunday, starting from April 5 and continuing until July 12.

The train will depart from Kanpur Central at 4.30 pm and is scheduled to arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 6.30 pm on Tuesdays, offering a convenient option for long-distance passengers.

In the return direction, train number 04132 will run from SMVT Bengaluru to Kanpur Central every Wednesday from April 8 to July 15.

The train will depart at 7.10 am from Bengaluru and reach Kanpur Central at 3.45 am on Fridays, according to an official release.

Railway authorities have introduced this special service to cater to the surge in travel demand during summer holidays, when many passengers travel for vacations, family visits, and other purposes.

Such seasonal trains help ease the pressure on regular services and provide additional options for passengers.

The route connecting Bengaluru with Kanpur via Prayagraj plays a crucial role in linking southern and northern parts of the country. The introduction of this special train is expected to benefit students, migrant workers, and families travelling between the two regions.

The announcement of the summer special train between SMVT Bengaluru and Kanpur Central is set to provide much-needed relief to passengers during the busy travel season. Travellers are advised to check availability and book tickets in advance to make use of the additional service.
