In the aftermath of heavy rains and strong winds, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued an advisory urging motorists to exercise caution while travelling across Bengaluru.
Authorities have asked commuters to drive at reduced speeds, especially on slippery and damaged road stretches caused by continuous rainfall.
Motorists have also been advised to remain alert in waterlogged areas, where hidden potholes and open drains could pose serious risks.
The advisory follows intense rain and gusty winds that lashed the city on April 29, leading to widespread disruption. Several key roads were affected due to fallen trees, snapped branches, and flooding.
Traffic movement slowed significantly in many parts, with commuters facing delays and hazardous driving conditions.
Officials stressed the importance of maintaining safe distances between vehicles, avoiding unnecessary travel during peak rainfall, and steering clear of areas prone to waterlogging.
They also cautioned against parking or taking shelter under trees due to the risk of falling branches during strong winds.
