YIASCM hosts PITCHIONIX 2026 innovation and business pitching event

Mangaluru: The Department of MBA at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management (YIASCM), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), organised PITCHIONIX 2026 , an intra-department innovation and business pitching event, on April 7, 2026, at the Balmatta Campus.

Held under the theme 'Where Innovation Meets Execution,' the event provided a dynamic platform for students to present innovative ideas, entrepreneurial concepts, and practical business solutions.

The event aimed to foster creativity, teamwork, and execution-oriented learning among students. Participants showcased their ideas in a competitive environment while receiving expert feedback on feasibility and real-world applicability.

A total of 28 teams participated, presenting concepts across diverse domains such as Operations & Supply Chain Management, Sustainability & Environment Management, Marketing and Investment, and Technology, AI & Data Analytics.

The programme was graced by Ms. Soumya, Manager - Incubation, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), and Dr. Parameshwar R. Hegde, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, who served as jury members.

Ms. Soumya emphasised the importance of incubation support in transforming student ideas into viable startups, encouraging participants to view their concepts as future entrepreneurial opportunities.

In the valedictory session, Dr. Parameshwar R. Hegde advised students to adopt a structured and research-oriented approach, highlighting the need for surveys, market understanding, and expert guidance to strengthen project feasibility.

A motivational address by Prof. Niyaz Panakaje, Coordinator of Yenepoya Research Centre for Finance and Entrepreneurship Development (YEN-REFINED), inspired students to pursue innovation with confidence. He assured support in connecting promising ideas with incubation facilities for further development.

The jury appreciated the creativity, clarity, and implementation potential demonstrated by participants, encouraging them to refine their ideas for future ventures.

In Operations & Supply Chain Management, the winning team included Mohammed Kasib, Abhirami M. A., and Jessin Mirshad.

In Sustainability & Environment Management, Mohammed Basil and team secured the top position.

In the Marketing and Investment track, Krupa Maria Rosario and team emerged as winners.

In Technology, AI & Data Analytics, Nihal I. A. and team won first place.

The event was organised under the guidance of Mr. Akash S, Associate Professor, and Dr. Vinay Raj, Professor, Department of MBA. Student coordinators and volunteers played a key role in ensuring smooth execution.

PITCHIONIX 2026 concluded on a highly positive note, reinforcing YIASCM's commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical learning. The event successfully provided students with a platform to transform ideas into actionable concepts.
