Hyderabad: Hyderabad's growing food scene has attracted another international name with the launch of Baan Phadthai, a Bangkok-based restaurant recognised in the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand category since 2018.

The restaurant has opened its first Hyderabad outlet at Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City in Hitec City, following two outlets in Bengaluru.

What is Baan Phadthai

Founded in Bangkok in 2016, Baan Phadthai is known for its focus on authentic Thai cuisine. The Hyderabad outlet marks the brand's latest expansion in India and introduces local diners to some of its most popular dishes.

Signature Phad Thai takes centre stage

The restaurant's menu is built around its signature Phad Thai, prepared with rice noodles and an 18-ingredient house-made sauce.

Other dishes include Tom Yum Kaichiau, a Thai-style crab omelette, Laab, a spicy minced salad from northeastern Thailand, fried chicken wings, spring rolls and satay skewers.

Keeping the menu concise, the restaurant offers around 25 dishes, including vegetarian options and vegan-friendly alternatives.

Hyderabad gets exclusive menu additions

The Hyderabad outlet features eight dishes not available at the brand's other locations. These include Yum Makuer, a Thai eggplant salad, and Gai Yang Vichianburi, a char-grilled chicken dish from Thailand's Esaan region.

New rice sets featuring curries and stir-fried vegetables have also been introduced for local diners.

Thai-inspired beverages

Alongside the food menu, the restaurant serves Thai-inspired mocktails and traditional drinks such as Thai milk tea (Cha Yen) and Thai lime iced tea (Cha Manao). Several beverages draw inspiration from familiar Thai ingredients including raw mango, papaya, coconut and kaffir lime.

Designed to reflect Bangkok's street culture

The 64-seat restaurant is designed to resemble Bangkok's traditional shophouses and neighbourhood eateries. The interiors feature Thai-inspired artwork, signboards and décor elements intended to recreate the atmosphere of the Thai capital.
