The roadshow brought together government officials, industry leaders, renewable-energy developers, manufacturers and investors from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The event was the third stop in a nationwide roadshow series being organised ahead of the BRE Summit 2026, which will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from November 2 to 5.

Centre highlights Telangana's clean-energy potential

Addressing the gathering, Anupam Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), said Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have the technology, engineering, manufacturing, research and entrepreneurial capabilities needed to play a larger role in India's clean-energy transition.

He said the three southern States had an opportunity to move beyond being consumers of clean-energy technologies and become producers, innovators, investors and technology partners.

For Telangana, the opportunities span solar manufacturing, power electronics, battery and other storage technologies, electrolysers, green hydrogen, grid technologies, digital energy-management systems and AI-based forecasting, besides electric mobility, bioenergy and advanced materials.

Telangana targets growing energy demand with clean power

Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TGREDCO), highlighted the State's growing renewable-energy ambitions under the Clean and Green Energy Policy 2025.

The policy provides incentives for renewable-energy generation and clean-energy manufacturing.

Faruqui said Telangana is looking to meet its rapidly growing energy requirements through clean energy and invited investors, manufacturers and industry stakeholders to explore opportunities in the State.

He also reaffirmed Telangana's commitment to actively participate in BRE Summit 2026.

India crosses 300 GW non-fossil capacity

The Hyderabad roadshow comes as India accelerates efforts to achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

Kumar said India's installed non-fossil fuel capacity has already crossed 300 GW, marking a new phase in the country's renewable-energy journey.

He stressed that the next phase cannot focus only on adding generation capacity. India will also need an integrated and flexible ecosystem covering transmission, storage, manufacturing, green hydrogen, digital technologies and flexible power and demand management.

He said clean energy is increasingly central to India's energy security, economic competitiveness, industrial growth, investment and job creation.

Andhra Pradesh targets 160 GW by 2029

The roadshow also showcased investment opportunities in neighbouring southern States.

Kamalakar Babu Merupu, VC and MD, NREDCAP, said Andhra Pradesh is targeting 160 GW of renewable-energy additions by 2029 under its Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024.

The State is seeking investments across renewable energy, storage, green hydrogen, biofuels and clean-energy manufacturing. The proposed Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone (REMZ) is also expected to strengthen its clean-energy investment proposition.

Tamil Nadu bets on storage and pumped hydro

B Rajeswari, Director (Finance), Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited, highlighted Tamil Nadu's established leadership in wind and solar power.

She said the State is strengthening its renewable-energy ecosystem, with energy storage and pumped-storage projects gaining importance for integrating renewable generation and meeting peak power requirements.

Tamil Nadu is also working to improve the investment environment through streamlined and online approval processes.

BRE Summit to connect investors and projects

The Hyderabad roadshow featured presentations on the strategic objectives and themes of BRE Summit 2026, business opportunities for OEMs, project developers and investors, and the summit's digital portal and mobile application.

Kumar invited the three States to use the summit to showcase their renewable-energy roadmaps, investment opportunities, green-hydrogen and storage plans, industrial capabilities and innovation ecosystems to a global audience.

He described BRE Summit 2026 as a platform where policy meets capital, capital meets projects and technology meets markets, with a focus on moving from commitments to implementation.

75+ countries expected at November summit

BRE Summit 2026 will be held from November 2 to 5 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, under the theme "Invest. Innovate. Inspire."

The summit is expected to attract participants from 75+ countries, including representatives of 20+ State governments and more than 250 high-level delegates.

It will feature 80+ curated sessions, 500+ speakers and a mega expo with 400+ exhibitors.

The event will be held alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen.

Roadshows to continue across India

Hyderabad was the third stop in the nationwide outreach campaign, following roadshows in Jaipur on August 24 and Mumbai on August 27.

The next roadshows are scheduled for Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Kolkata in the coming weeks as the Ministry and its organising partners build momentum ahead of the November summit.
