Custom officials seized Rs 70 lakh worth gold biscuits at Hyderabad International Airport

Hyderabad: Acting on specific intelligence, the customs sleuths seized 4 cut gold biscuits weighing 1.4 kg at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
Around 1.30 PM on 23 October, the officials based on inputs from Vishakapatnam customs officials intercepted two passengers at the International Airport. On checks, it was found that the duo who were travelling from Vizag to Hyderabad, was carrying gold biscuits worth Rs 70 lakhs.

The gold was found in the trousers of the passengers. The investigation found that the gold was concealed in the aircraft by 2 other passengers who travelled in the same aircraft from Dubai-Vishakapatnam.
The two international passengers were detained by Vizag customs.
Further investigation is under progress.
