Suffered cardiac arrest in Hanamkonda

Sudarshan Reddy developed severe chest pain on the morning of July 26 while he was in Hanamkonda and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a cardiac arrest.

Medical teams worked for nearly an hour and administered nine rounds of CPR, eventually restoring partial cardiac activity before shifting him to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad for advanced treatment.

Brain damage due to oxygen deprivation

At Yashoda Hospital, he was placed on ventilator support. According to doctors, he never regained consciousness and showed no neurological response during treatment.

Medical examinations, including ECG, Brain MRI and Transcranial Doppler (TCD) tests, indicated severe brain damage caused by prolonged oxygen deprivation. Despite intensive medical care, he breathed his last after five days of treatment.

Rose from farmer's family to BRS legislator

Born on August 6, 1974, in Nallabelli of the erstwhile Warangal district, Sudarshan Reddy hailed from a farming family and rose steadily in politics. He played an active role in the Telangana statehood movement and was elected as the MLA from Narsampet Assembly constituency in 2018.

He began his political career in the Congress before joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (now Bharat Rashtra Samithi) in 2001. In the same year, he was elected as the Nallabelli ZPTC member.

During the BRS government, he served as the Chairman of the Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation in 2015 before winning the Assembly election in 2018.

KCR calls it an irreparable loss

BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) expressed profound grief over Sudarshan Reddy's demise, describing it as an irreparable loss to Telangana. He said he had lost a close friend and a trusted companion of the Telangana movement.

Recalling their association during the statehood agitation, KCR said Sudarshan Reddy played a vital role in strengthening the movement in the erstwhile Warangal district and courageously upheld the BRS flag in Narsampet.

He also said the party had made every possible effort to save his life and appreciated the doctors for their relentless efforts. KCR assured the bereaved family that the party would stand firmly by them during this difficult time.

KTR pays heartfelt tribute

BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) said Sudarshan Reddy's death had left him deeply shocked and saddened. He said party leaders and workers had hoped for his recovery while he was undergoing treatment, but the news of his passing was heartbreaking.

KTR described Sudarshan Reddy as a committed leader whose contribution to the Telangana movement would always be remembered. He said the former MLA remained dedicated to the ideals of the movement, stood firmly with the people and worked tirelessly to strengthen the party.

Calling his death an irreparable loss not only to the BRS but also to Telangana society, KTR said Sudarshan Reddy's commitment, public service and fighting spirit would continue to inspire generations of party workers.

He offered his prayers for the departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and supporters, wishing them strength to overcome the tragedy.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed profound grief over the sudden demise of former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said Peddi Sudarshan Reddy's contribution to the Telangana movement would be remembered forever. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
