Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. A video of PM Modi visiting a wedding in Delhi in February was falsely linked to the West Bengal State polls.

Analysis of the video

We conducted a reverse image search on the keyframes of the video and found that an Instagram handle named 'TIF | The Indian Fever' shared the clip on February 15. The caption of the post suggested that the video shows PM Modi attending the wedding of DD News anchor Ashok Srivastava's daughter.

A Mumbai-based local news outlet Mumbai-Today posted that PM Modi attended the wedding ceremony of DD News anchor Ashok Srivastav's daughter, Pihu, in New Delhi on February 12.

We also found a news report published by a portal named Punarvas Online on February 17. The report featured images of PM Modi posing with the bride, groom and Ashok Srivastava.

The report stated that Ashok Srivastava and his wife, Anupama, welcomed PM Modi at the entrance. He then went to the stage with them, greeted Srivastava's mother, Nirmal and blessed the groom, Aryan and the bride, Pihu.

Therefore, we conclude that the claim is false.
