Hyderabad: The Chaderghat Police has arrested a person for using a fake number plate and tampering with the original registration number of his two-wheeler.
The police registered a criminal case and apprehended the accused Mohd. Rafiuddin, a resident of Kurmaguda, Madannapet.
What is the crime?
During the inspection, it was found that the accused Mohd. Rafiuddin altered the vehicle registration number from TG11A1698 to TG11A1898 with the intention of misleading the enforcement authorities.
A complaint was lodged by Shaheen Begum, a resident of Padma Nagar, Old Malakpet-the legitimate/registered owner of vehicle TG11A1898.
She alleged the misuse of her vehicle's registration number. It was revealed that due to the use of the fake/tampered number plate, the accused committed multiple traffic violations, resulting in traffic challans wrongly generated against the complainant vehicle.
The accused was arrested and further investigation is underway.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police cautioned the public that the use of fake or tampered number plates is a serious and punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act, and such violations will be dealt with strictly as per law.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police are equipped with advanced technological systems, including CCTV surveillance and ANPR cameras, to detect vehicles using fake/tampered number plates and to effectively track vehicle movements.
