Amaravati: The India Meteorological Department has issued a five-day weather alert for Andhra Pradesh, forecasting thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several regions, along with hot and humid conditions in coastal areas.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Amaravati, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph are likely at isolated places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on April 21 and 22. Similar thunderstorm activity with lightning is also expected over Rayalaseema during this period.
In addition, hot, humid and uncomfortable weather conditions are likely at isolated locations along Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
