My first signature upon returning to power would be to scrap HYDRAA: KCR

Jagtial: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday vowed to scrap the HYDRAA, which he claimed has become an instrument of fear.

Launching `Jaitra Yatra' (Victory March) here, KCR hit out at the Congress government for `betraying' people's trust.

Addressing a rally at the 'Praja Ashirwada Sabha', KCR said his first signature upon returning to power would be to scrap HYDRAA.

The 'First Signature' Vow

Dominating the narrative, KCR centered his speech on the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), which he claimed has become an instrument of fear.

"The very first act of a BRS government will be to abolish HYDRAA and throw it into the Bay of Bengal," KCR declared to thunderous applause.

He accused the agency of destroying the state's real estate sector and "bulldozing the dreams of the poor" under the guise of lake protection. He argued that land values, which peaked during the BRS tenure, have plummeted as investors flee the state due to administrative uncertainty.

Political Realignment in North Telangana

The meeting served as a significant morale booster for the BRS cadre, especially in the combined Karimnagar district. In a move that signaled shifting political tides, veteran leader T Jeevan Reddy officially joined the BRS during the rally. KCR immediately rewarded the induction by appointing him as the party general secretary for the region, tasking him with spearheading the party's revival in North Telangana.

Addressing rumors regarding his health and political future, KCR remained defiant. "Some people want me to die, but I will not die as per their wish," he remarked, asserting that his commitment to the "immortal spirit" of Telangana remains his driving force.

A Litany of Failures of Congress

The former Chief Minister spared no words in criticizing CM Revanth Reddy's administration, highlighting what he called the "betrayal" of the Six Guarantees.

Agricultural Crisis: KCR alleged that the Rythu Bandhu scheme has been stalled, leaving farmers in the lurch. He further warned that the Congress plans to install electricity meters on agricultural pump sets-a move he claimed to have successfully blocked despite pressure from the Central Government during his ten-year rule.

Infrastructure Neglect: He pointed to the return of power cuts and the "dilution" of Mission Bhagiratha, claiming that the state's once-robust drinking water and power systems are now crumbling.

Corruption Allegations: The BRS chief raised concerns over alleged scams in civil supplies and land transactions, specifically labeling the Musi River Project as a "land-grabbing venture" rather than a genuine environmental initiative.

The Road Ahead

KCR called for a 'Punarnirmanam Yagnam' (Reconstruction Movement), urging the public to recognize the difference between "emotional slogans and constructive governance."

The Jagtial meeting, held strategically as CM Revanth Reddy toured Medigadda, has set the stage for a prolonged "parallel showdown." With KCR now back on the ground, the BRS aims to capitalize on perceived anti-incumbency, framing the upcoming political cycle as a battle to "save the progress" made over the last decade.
