Amaravati: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday finalised their seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) set to contest three seats and the Jana Sena Party (JSP) one seat.

The decision was taken at an NDA coordination meeting held in Amaravati, where leaders of the TDP, BJP and Jana Sena also chalked out a statewide campaign to highlight the achievements of both the Central and State governments. The campaign will coincide with the completion of two years of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh and 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership at the Centre.

Addressing the media after the meeting, NDA leaders announced a series of major public rallies across the state. The first meeting will be held in Tirupati on June 9, focusing on welfare initiatives, followed by a rally in Amaravati on June 12 highlighting governance reforms, and another in Visakhapatnam on June 15 showcasing development projects.

In addition, district-level outreach programmes will be conducted from June 13 to June 20 to publicise welfare schemes, governance reforms and development initiatives undertaken by both governments. The detailed schedule for the campaign is expected to be released shortly.

Andhra Pradesh TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao said the alliance would jointly take the achievements of the Central and State governments to the people and also discussed preparations related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise during the meeting.

Jana Sena leader and Minister Nadendla Manohar said the campaign would focus on development and welfare programmes implemented over the past two years. He added that Union Ministers would participate in the outreach programmes and that the alliance would highlight 24 major initiatives undertaken during its 24 months in office. He also stated that the Jana Sena Party's Rajya Sabha candidate would be announced by the party leadership.

BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav said the campaign would showcase the achievements of both the NDA government at the Centre and the alliance government in Andhra Pradesh. He noted that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had proposed launching the campaign on June 9, marking the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi assuming office.

Madhav said key issues such as industrial investments, the Polavaram project, Amaravati's development and the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone would be highlighted during the campaign. He reaffirmed that the BJP, TDP and Jana Sena remained united and committed to the state's development, asserting that attempts to create divisions within the alliance would not succeed.
