Hyderabad: Motorists travelling through Secunderabad, Paradise, Begumpet and Trimulgherry on Tuesday morning may face significant delays as police enforce traffic diversions for Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Ground.
Authorities have advised commuters to use Metro Rail services and avoid key routes around the venue between 7 am and 12 noon.
CM Revanth to attend celebrations
The State-level celebrations, which will be attended by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other dignitaries, are expected to draw large crowds.
This has prompted the Malkajgiri Traffic Police to implement extensive traffic management measures across major corridors in Secunderabad.
Key routes likely to witness congestion
Traffic officials said roads leading to Parade Grounds and surrounding areas, including Paradise Junction, Patny, Clock Tower, Sangeeth Junction, Begumpet and Trimulgherry, are likely to experience heavy congestion during the event.
Motorists have been urged to plan their journeys and avoid unnecessary travel through these stretches during the restricted hours.
Diversions on major corridors
Here is the list of diversions:
- Vehicles travelling from Begumpet towards Sangeeth Junction will be diverted through Paradise, Patny and Clock Tower.
- Commuters heading from Begumpet to Trimulgherry have been advised to use the route via St. John's Rotary, Shenoy Junction, AOC Centre and KV.
- Traffic moving from Sangeeth Junction towards Punjagutta will be diverted through Clock Tower, Patny, Ghasmandi, Karbala, Tank Bund and Khairatabad.
- Similarly, motorists travelling between Secunderabad and Trimulgherry will be redirected through Sangeeth Junction, St John's Rotary and AOC Centre, while vehicles heading towards Bowenpally will be diverted through Paradise and CTO.
Alternate routes for Tank Bund and Bowenpally Traffic
Traffic from Tank Bund towards Trimulgherry will be diverted through Paradise, CTO, Tadbun, Diamond Point and Bowenpally Market.
Vehicles travelling in the opposite direction can use the NCC, Picket, Sweekar Upkar, YMCA and Clock Tower route before joining Tank Bund.
Motorists travelling from Bowenpally to Secunderabad have been advised to use the Brook Bond, Tivoli, Sweekar Upkar and YMCA corridor to avoid congestion.
Use metro rail instead
To reduce pressure on city roads, traffic police have encouraged citizens to make use of Hyderabad Metro Rail and other public transport services.
Officials believe public transport will help ease congestion around the venue and ensure smoother movement during the celebrations.
Heavy vehicles, RTC buses and private travel coaches have also been advised to avoid roads leading to Parade Grounds between 6 am and 1 pm.
Strict action against illegal parking
Police have warned that roadside parking near the venue and adjoining routes will not be permitted. Vehicles parked in unauthorised locations will be towed away and penalised to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement.
Four dedicated parking zones have been earmarked for visitors attending the celebrations, with QR-code-based navigation facilities provided to help motorists reach designated parking areas.
Real-time monitoring through CCTV
Traffic movement will be monitored continuously through CCTV cameras and Traffic Control Rooms. Real-time updates regarding diversions and congestion will be shared through official social media handles and FM radio channels.
