Nalin Haley, son of Nikki Haley, said in a recent social media post that India has not been a good ally to the United States.
Nalin, who projects himself as a MAGA spokesperson, accused India of sending cheap labour to the US while buying oil from Iran and weapons from Russia. Nalin Haley said India has a "cheap government". He then added that the issue was not just about India and that the US needs to re-evaluate its relationship with many so-called allies.
Nalin Haley's post on X reads, "India has not been a good "ally" to America. They send cheap labor to the US, buy cheap oil from Iran, and cheap weapons from Russia because they have a cheap government.And it's not just India. The United States needs to reevaluate their relationship with a lot of "allies"."
His comments came at a time when India and the US are close to striking a trade deal after months of negotiations.
Response to old Vivek Ramaswamy video
Nalin Haley's remarks were made in response to an old video of Vivek Ramaswamy from 2023. In the video, Ramaswamy had supported decoupling the US from China and expanding ties with India. He had said he supported this position not because he was from India.
The 2023 video resurfaced as a section of MAGA supporters targeted Ramaswamy over his Ohio governor bid. Nalin Haley, a known critic of Ramaswamy, has spoken openly against his policies.
