ABOUT

Ward No. 1A is one of the four sub-wards of Ward No. 1 of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The PMC has a total of 41 wards spread across Pune, representing 165 corporators. This sub-ward is reserved for Scheduled Caste (Women). Ward No. 1, to which this sub-ward belongs, has a total population of 92644, of which 18010 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 2274 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.

The gazette notification for the PMC Ward No. 1A was issued on December 15, 2025 (Monday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was December 31, 2025 (Wednesday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was January 2, 2026 (Friday). This ward voted on Thursday, January 15, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, January 16, 2026.

The last Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Bharatiya Janata Party was the single largest party with 97 seats, while Nationalist Congress Party won 39 seats. Shiv Sena secured 10 seats, Indian National Congress won nine seats, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won two seats and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won a single seat. Four Independent candidates were also elected as corporators in the election.
