Ward No. 33B is one of the four sub-wards of Ward No. 33 of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The PMC has a total of 41 wards spread across Pune, representing 165 corporators. This sub-ward is reserved for General (Women). Ward No. 33, to which this sub-ward belongs, has a total population of 87814, of which 10151 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 1739 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.
The extent of Ward 1 of Pune Municipal Corporation as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: Location: Sanasnagar, Nandoshi, National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Kirkitwadi, Kondhave Dhawade, Kopre Village, Nanded, Shivne (Part) Uttam Nagar, D.S. K. Vishwa Area, Raikar Mala Area, Dhayri Garmal Area, Mahadev Nagar, Nanded City, Central Water and Power Research Centre, etc. North: From the intersection of the boundary of Village Bhukum and Kondhave Dhavade meet at the north of Kondhave Dhavade, then towards east along the northern boundary of Kondhave Dhavade and further along the boundary of Shivne village and further along the common boundary of Village Shivne and Warje to meet Warje-NDA road at Ganapatimatha, then towards west along Warje-NDA road and further towards west along the northern boundary of Dudhane Heights and Sadguru Residency then further towards west to meet Shivne Nanded road, then towards south along Shivne Nanded road to meet Mutha river. The last Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Bharatiya Janata Party was the single largest party with 97 seats, while Nationalist Congress Party won 39 seats. Shiv Sena secured 10 seats, Indian National Congress won nine seats, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won two seats and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won a single seat. Four Independent candidates were also elected as corporators in the election. The next election is scheduled to take place on 15 January 2026, with the counting of votes on 16 January 2026.
