It was a box office clash on January 16, when two much-anticipated movies - Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos and Rahu Ketu - were released on the same date.
Headlined by the comedic duo Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, Rahu Ketu was expected to have decent camaraderie, as both actors are known for their performances in Fukrey. However, it seems the film failed to impress audiences on the big screen. On the other hand, produced by Aamir Khan, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos, though it opened with good reviews, saw below-average box office collections. Check earnings below.
Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos vs Rahu Ketu Box Office Collection Day 1
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos earned only Rs 1.25 crore on day 1, whereas Pulkit Samrat-starrer Rahu Ketu minted Rs 1 crore on its opening day.
Though both movies fall under the same comedy genre, it seems Vir Das' film managed to land a comparatively better opening.

Coming to Vir's comedy film, the occupancy of Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos was overall 9.57 per cent in Hindi, with the major segment coming from night shows.
On the contrary, Rahu Ketu had an occupancy rate of 6.90 per cent, with the highest percentage during the evening and night shows.
Alongside films like Dhurandhar, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, The Raja Saab, and several others that have been battling it out at the box office for a while, Happy Patel and Rahu Ketu are the latest entrants.
While both Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos and Rahu Ketu are giving parallel competition to each other, it will be interesting to see which film takes over the other.
