Saif Ali Khan has talked about his personal life, struggles after his divorce from Amrita Singh and his movies several times. Even after the divorce, he shares a cordial relationship with Amrita Singh, and they have two children together.
Fans still recall his charming performance in Hum Saath Saath Hain, but many people don't know that the actor was struggling in his personal life at that time.
Director Sooraj Barjatya, in an older interview, revealed that Saif Ali Khan was not sleeping properly while he was shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain as he was dealing with some personal issues.
"Saif Ali Khan's personal life had a lot of ups and downs during the shooting of 'Hum Saath Saath Hai'. So he was always under tension. There is an anecdote about the time of the song 'Suno ji Dulhan' in the film. Saif Ali Khan was taking many retakes during the shooting of this song. He was not sleeping all night, thinking about how to portray the character in a good way. I came to know this when I talked to his first wife," he said in an older interview.
The filmmaker further revealed that Amrita Singh was advised to give sleeping pills to Saif without his knowledge. He further added, "She gave him sleeping pills without his knowledge. So many of his scenes were arranged the next day. He did it. The song gave a very good shot in one take. Everyone was shocked as he gave a very good shot."
Saif got married to Amrita Singh when he was only 20. They tied the knot in 1991 and welcomed two children, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan, who are actors as well. They got divorced in 2004. Saif is now married to Kareena Kapoor and has two sons with her.
