A chilling shockwave ran down fans' spines when they heard about the sudden demise of singer-turned actor Prashant Tamang. The 43-year-old actor passed away due to cardiac arrest on January 11, 2026. A man of many talents and layers, Prashant was not only a singer or actor, but he also contributed his services to safeguarding the citizens of India, having worked with the Kolkata Police.
Prashant is survived by his wife, Geeta Thapa aka Martha Aley, and a daughter. As we discuss the late singer, here are a few things you should know about his wife too.
Who Is Prashant Tamang's Wife?
Despite being a part of the entertainment industry, Prashant's love story started mid-air when he was travelling for one of his concerts. The singer met his wife, Geeta Thapa aka Martha Aley, while travelling.

For the unversed, Prashant's wife, Geeta Thapa, is a former flight attendant. She prefers to stay away from the spotlight and maintains a very low-key profile.
How Did Prashant Meet Geeta Thapa?
Since Geeta was once a flight attendant, she was operating an international flight on which the singer was travelling. Prashant was on his way to one of his musical tours in Dimapur, Nagaland, when he first noticed Geeta. The two struck up a conversation and felt an instant connection. They later became friends and stayed in touch.
As the two grew closer, their emotions blossomed into love, and the couple got married in a private ceremony on February 16, 2011. Since it was a private affair, only close friends and family attended the event. It has been over a decade since the couple spent their lives in peace and happiness. In 2022, the couple was blessed with their first daughter, Ariah. The birth of Prashant and Geeta's daughter was announced on July 27, 2022, after Prashant had revealed earlier that month that the couple was expecting.

Meanwhile, Prashant's wife Geeta hails from Nagaland and her father was Deputy Inspector General in the LIC.
