Asha Bhosle, the legendary singer, passed away at the age of 92 on April 12, 2026. Several celebrities and fans mourned her loss and remembered her incredible contribution to the Indian music industry.
She was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 11 due to exhaustion and a pulmonary chest infection. The hospital has now revealed the reason for her demise in a statement.
Asha Bhosle death reason
Doctor Prateet Samdani revealed that the veteran singer died due to organ failure and was already dealing with multiple health issues. "It is sad news that Asha Bhosle has passed away today. She was suffering from multiple medical complications and died due to multi-organ failure," he said.
The news of her death was announced by her youngest son, Anand Bhosle, and he even spoke to the media. He said, "My mother Asha Bhosle has passed away today. Tomorrow at 11 AM, people can pay their last respects at her residence."

Born in 1933, Asha Bhosle was one of the greatest and most influential singers in Hindi cinema. She received numerous awards in her career including two National Film Awards, four BFJA Awards, eighteen Maharashtra State Film Awards, nine Filmfare Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award and seven Filmfare Awards for Best Female Playback Singer. She even gained two Grammy nominations.
She made a name for herself despite being the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's younger sister. However, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle's sibling rivalry was also talked about in the industry. When Bhosle eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle, Mangeshkar called it irresponsible. In her initial days, Bhosle also played second fiddle to Mangeshkar.
