As a tribute to the remarkable legacy of the Mangeshkar sisters- Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle- their brother, revered singer Hridaynath Mangeshkar has revealed plans to make Asia's biggest hospital in their memory.

In a recent interview, he revealed that the project was first aimed as a tribute to their elder sister, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. But with Asha Bhosle's demise ahead of the opening ceremony on April 16th, the decision came out to name the medical institution after both of them.

While speaking to IANS, Hridaynath Mangeshkar opened up about the initiative, stating, "We are trying that this should be the biggest hospital in Asia. We have taken quite a big land, rest it up to God." The hospital is expected to be named either Lata-Asha Institute of Medical Sciences or Lata-Asha Mangeshkar Ayurvidya Sansthan.

Museum dedicated to Mangeshkar-Bhosle family

In addition to this, the family is also aiming to dedicate a museum to the iconic sister duo and will proudly showcase the legacy of the Mangeshkar-Bhosle family. Moreover, the visitors will also get a chance to learn about the music through interactive experiences as well as cherish their rich musical legacy. Further details about the project are yet to be revealed.

Asha Bhosle's death

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai on Sunday at the age of 92. She had been hospitalized at Breach Candy hospital on Sunday after her health deteriorated due to chest infection and fatigue. She succumbed to multi-organ failure around 12pm on Sunday (April 12).

Her last rites were performed on Monday, and several Bollywood celebrities including Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Tabu, Vivek Oberoi, music composer Anu Malik, singers Anup Jalota, Sudesh Bhosale, and Shaan offered their condolences.
