CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare the Class 12 Result 2026 soon on its official website, cbse.gov.in.
More than 18 lakh students who appeared for the board examinations this year are eagerly waiting for the announcement. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said on April 29 that reports about problems and delays in checking Class 12 answer sheets are not true. The board said its On-Screen Marking system is working "perfectly" and everything is on schedule.
CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Expected result date
Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj said students can expect their results in the third week of May, as announced earlier. This year, CBSE introduced a new digital system called On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 papers. Answer sheets were checked online instead of using paper copies. However, Class 10 papers were still checked in the usual physical way.
The Class 12 exams were held from February 17 to April 10, 2026. All exams took place in one shift starting at 10:30 am, and the last paper was Legal Studies. Exams for students in West Asian countries were cancelled, but their results will still be announced with all other students.
Last year, 88.39% of students passed the Class 12 exams. Girls performed better, with a pass rate of 91.64%, while boys had 85.70%. In total, 17,04,367 students registered for the exams in 2025. Of these, 16,92,794 appeared, and 14,96,307 passed. This was slightly better than 2024, when 87.98% of students passed.
