The victim, a student and part-time model, was alone when the accused entered her residence and repeatedly attacked her with a knife. According to police, she suffered several stab wounds in the abdomen area and other body parts.

Pool of blood, gym trainer on the run

Muskan was found lying covered in blood and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Following the incident, an extensive police search was launched to trace the prime suspect, a gym trainer identified as Imran, who was known to the victim. He is currently on the run, while raids are being conducted at the gym and locations linked to his friends and family.

One-and-a-half years pursuit

The victim and suspected gym trainer had known each other for one-and-a-half years, as per reports. Meanwhile, relatives and neighbours told investigators that Imran was often spotted in the area and had allegedly been pursuing her. Some acquaintances have claimed that Muskan had rejected his advances. The motive behind the killing is, however, yet to be established.

Additional DCP Abhishek Gupta said efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect and that CCTV footage from the surrounding scene was being examined. In addition, the victim's phone and digital records are being used to reconstruct the events.

Who was Muskan?

Muskan's friend described her as the youngest among three siblings. He also alleged that the victim's family had earlier expressed concerns that the suspect was harassing her. 'He had troubled her in the past as well, and following the incident, suspicion immediately fell on him,' he added.

The killing has sent shockwaves across the locality, prompting police to deploy multiple teams to trace the absconding gym trainer. Officials stated that both belong to different faiths, and an additional police team has been deployed in the area as a precautionary step while the probe continues.

Muskan's body has been sent for a postmortem examination, and further details about the nature of the attack are awaited.
