Silver prices stay above Rs 2.27 lakh
Silver prices remained above the Rs 2.27 lakh mark despite the decline in futures trading. In the domestic market, silver was trading at around Rs 2,27,990 per kg. Investors continue to track movements in global bullion prices, the US dollar and interest rate expectations, which remain key drivers for gold and silver prices.
Why gold, silver prices are rising now
Gold and silver prices are rising as investors are increasingly buying safe haven assets amid global economic and geopolitical uncertainty. Expectations of interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve have also boosted demand for precious metals. A softer US dollar has further supported bullion prices. Strong central bank purchases and steady investment demand have added to the rally. Silver is also benefiting from improving industrial demand, particularly from the solar and electronics sectors.
